After hearing an account of the spiritual needs of India, the secretary of the meeting remarked: "There is a gold mine in India, but its seems almost as deep as the center of the earth. Who will venture to explore it?" "I will venture to go down," said William Carey, "but remember that you must hold the ropes."

This quote is great. Fellow missionary William Carey got it right, his partners hold the ropes. He wasn't able to do it alone. The same is true for us, we can't do it without our team.

"So you're not paid?" Yep... that's right, not a dime. No one in Youth With a Mission is, not even the president! And yet, it is the one of the largest missions organizations in the world: in over 150 countries with over 16,000 staff all who rely on God’s provision and a team of people behind them.

The Bible teaches we are all to be a part of missions. Maybe living in Africa is not your calling. We feel it is ours. God has called us to go, lay down other careers, and give our lives. Others are called to pray or financially partner. We have people that give anywhere from $4 month to alot more. It’s a wide variety and all of it adds up!

This giving goes towards our personal living expenses and ministry expenses. In addition to our family needs, we also financially partner monthly with 6 other African missionary families. We aim to give generously when we see need and be able to travel throughout in the continent to teach.

Would you prayerfully consider investing in the long-term work of missions in Africa with us?

Should your answer be yes, thank you for your investment. It leaves us humbled and with a great sense of responsibility.

Here's how you can partner:

Questions on giving:

Does YWAM Montana keep a portion of the money?

No, they charge us $1.50 for processing/postage. We are global partners with them, therefore they bless us with all the leg work of our donation processing.

How exactly do you get the money?

The money is deposited into an account in the US and we access it with our debit card overseas.

Can I set up monthly giving with YWAM Montana?

Yes, monthly Automatic Bank drafts can be set up easily. Call them directly: 406.844.2223 or email us. If you like online bill payment with your bank, you can also set up monthly deductions that way too.

Do you do anything that generates income on the side?

Yes, alot like Paul we have our tent-making, if you will. However, our priority is missions. On the side, we run Jirah Typesetting, a company in which we do freelance typesetting and design of books. If you are publishing a book or know the right people in a publishing house, please get in touch with us. We'd be happy to present our portfolio of work. Primarily we work with Spanish material, but can also offer English and Afrikaans services. We are also venturing into starting a small photography business here in South Africa. That's still in the works.

Any creative or practical ideas instead of money?

Yes! Here are some ideas:

1) AIRLINES MILES: We can save hundreds by using airline miles for flights. If you would like to donate any, please get in touch with us. We can do the legwork with the airlines.

2) PRINTING: We can save money every year by cutting the cost of printing newsletters. Communication is a vital part of missions. We also print a lot of resources for teaching. If you like to donate any printing, let us know. We have a great "newsletter team" aka De Wet's parents who stuff envelopes, mail, and pay for postage 4 times a year for our newsletters.

3) MAIL/CARE PACKAGES: Its rare day to get mail and practically a holiday when we get something from home. If you would like to send your Christmas card, letter, postcard, or even a care package, get in touch with here us for our address. We don't post it online for safety reasons. Care package ideas: recorded tv shows, podcasts (Dave Ramsey is a favorite), reecees peanut butter cups, tide pens, tasty decaffeinated coffee (Marysol gets headaches from caffeine), photos. Anything! :)

4) RECRUIT: If you are a current partner, could you help us recruit a new one? You wouldn’t believe how people have invested in this ministry by opening doors for us. Send this website to someone or put us in touch with the right people. When we visit the USA, we would love to speak anywhere that would like to hear about missions: schools, churches, Bible study groups, etc. We promise it won’t be boring.
