The bling-bling thank yous
Last week I blogged about teaching God’s thoughts on money. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, read here first. Ok, so this picture. Its the thank you card. You ask, Is it backwards? Yes. Please forgive me. I shot with my webcam. My camera is in for repair.
My bling bling teaching for this group is now over and it was a fantastic finish. We ended off on topics of corruption, bribery, generosity, and accountability.
For this post, I want to highlight their thank you card to me. I’m a missionary teacher, meaning normally get a thank you card not an honorarium. I teach for free and wouldn’t have it any other way. If I was in this for the money, (pun not intended) I would have realized long ago to move on. Often the thank you is the best paycheck.
So I want to read some off because they struck me as more than just “we liked your teaching”. I’m going to skip over some of the “you are a great teacher” parts because it just feels weird to talk about that about your self. Know what I mean?
Ok, here we go...
“I promise to budget carefully my money. Don’t teach only us, teach another generation too!”
“This was wisdom and will be invaluable for the rest of our lives”
“It is so helpful to hear this type of advice and be aware it is actually Biblical”
“You actually succeeded in making a very boring subject for me quiet interesting. This was a great help!”
“I’m starting to see how this is so important to my discipleship”
“Thanks for sparking several great conversations between my wife & I about our financial future”
“This made me amped to start saving”
“This was practical for me and its usually a typically ignored subject for Christians”
This is what I love about teaching, its the slow renewal of the mind and influencing of a generation! Everyone is talking about money lately due to the global recession. If you are looking for a great financial book, here’s the best we recommend. We did a review here. And if you buy through this site, they’ll donate a percentage back to us
